How to Design a Brick Couple on One Base
A brick couple on one base should read as two recognizable people and one coherent composition.

A brick couple on one base should read as two recognizable people and one coherent composition. Start with their relationship and spacing, then fit the base around the actual build.
Choose a shared gesture
Standing side by side, turning slightly inward or sharing a small accessory can communicate connection without an elaborate pose. Confirm which gestures the product's construction supports.
Do not assume a hand-holding pose in an illustration uses a reliable connection. Ask how the figures and any shared prop are attached before treating the image as a build plan.
Preserve individual cues
Label each person's face, hairstyle and outfit references. If both wear similar colors, use their actual differences in silhouette or clothing to keep them visually distinct.
Avoid changing one person's appearance simply to create contrast. The references should guide the interpretation, while spacing and pose help separate the characters naturally.
Size the complete footprint
Allow room for feet, clothing, hair and any included accessory. The base width matters as much as figure height when the gift is intended for a narrow shelf or desk.
Ask for finished overall dimensions. A measurement for one person does not describe the space required by the entire couple, and a decorative heart or sign may extend beyond the main base.

Review as a group
Check the front view at display size. Are both faces visible? Does an accessory obscure either outfit? Is the space between the figures deliberate rather than an awkward gap?
Confirm any text, included extras and packaging separately. A scene shown around the couple may be styling rather than part of the price.
Our base-planning guide covers support and footprint. The best composition usually gives each person enough room while keeping the pair visually connected, rather than adding decorations simply to fill every remaining part of the platform.
