Graduation gift ideas for a milestone worth remembering

· VoxelPals Studio

The best graduation gift ideas celebrate both the person and what comes next. A custom figurine based on their photos can capture the graduate in cap and gown or dressed for their new profession—a personal gift from parents, a partner, or friends.

Choose the moment you want to celebrate

Start with a simple question: would they rather remember graduation day or celebrate their next chapter? A cap and gown puts the achievement at the center, whether they are finishing high school, a university degree, a master’s, or a PhD. An outfit connected to their new profession looks ahead instead.

For a nursing graduate, you might choose their nursing outfit; for another graduate, use a photo of the clothes you want the figure to wear. A small handheld book can add a personal detail without turning the figure into a whole scene. Small handheld props such as a book, bouquet, cup, or ball are free; bigger props and scenes are quoted separately before anything is charged.

Parents can focus on the milestone, a partner can choose a meaningful shared connection, and friends can pick an outfit they immediately associate with the graduate. When considering unique graduation gifts, the strongest choice is often the one that feels most recognizably theirs.

Four personalized figurine options, starting at $99

Choose the design that fits your idea, then select from the available size and Style options. These are starting prices for the Figure only packaging option on the US store.

  • Custom Graduation Figurine — One Person — from $99. A graduation-focused choice for celebrating the graduate on their own. Available at 10 cm for $99, 14 cm for $104, or 18 cm for $109.
  • Mini You — Graduation — from $99. Another graduation design to consider for a personal tribute to the occasion.
  • 3D Mini You — from $99. Consider this option for an idea centered on the graduate’s everyday look or new profession.
  • 3D Duo — from $164. Consider a two-person figure of a graduate and their partner or friend, with both people’s agreement.

If you are choosing a shared gift as a partner, the couple figurine gift guide can help you think through the idea.

Make the figure personal, not just graduation-themed

VoxelPals’ figures are hand-sculpted by a sculptor in polymer clay from your photos, oven-baked, painted by hand, and set on a polished base. Each piece is made to order. The result is a stylized interpretation of the person, not a scan.

For people figures, the default Style option is Bobblehead: the head sits on a small spring and nods when tapped. For a fixed head, choose Standard figure under Style. The price is the same either way.

Whether you are looking for a graduation gift for her or a graduation gift for him, let their actual clothes, posture, and preferences guide the choice rather than relying on a generic theme.

Which photos should you send?

One clear photo of each face is enough to get started. A full-length photo helps show the outfit and posture, especially if you want a cap-and-gown look or clothing associated with a new profession. Include photos that show the details you want represented.

You can upload up to 10 photos when ordering, with a maximum of 12 MB each, in JPG, PNG, or WebP format. You can also order first and email the photos to hello@voxelpals.com later. Read the photo-to-figurine guide before choosing your images. Only request figures of people who agree to having one made.

When to order before the graduation ceremony

Most orders arrive 20–25 days after we have the photo. Work backward from the ceremony if you want to give the figure that day, and allow extra time rather than treating that window as a promised arrival date. Ordering without sending photos does not start that delivery window.

The sculptor makes the head first, and we usually send photos of it within 3–4 days of receiving your photo. Once the head is right, the hair and body take about 8–12 days, and we send photos of the finished figure before shipping. Shipping is free and tracked, and US import duties are included. See the sizes, prices, and delivery guide for planning details.

A figurine based on the graduate’s photos can celebrate their achievement through their face, outfit, and posture, rather than a graduation message alone.
