How to Organize References for a Six-Person Figure
A six-person figure needs a reference system that keeps identities, outfits and positions distinct.

A six-person figure needs a reference system that keeps identities, outfits and positions distinct. Organizing the information before design is easier than correcting swapped details in a crowded proof.
A six-person file naming example
Keep the same person label from upload to approval: A-face.jpg, A-outfit.jpg, then repeat for B through F. Add an arrangement note such as left to right: C, D, A, B, E, F; do not assume filenames alone explain the relationships.
For each label, write the intended hairstyle, outfit source and one essential detail. If C-face.jpg is an older photograph, say which age should be represented. During review, check A through F one at a time, then check the arrangement as a whole. Keep one dated approval version so a later comment cannot accidentally refer to an earlier group layout.
Make a six-row reference sheet
Use labels A through F and record the same fields for each person:
| Field | What to supply |
|---|---|
| Identity | Name or private label used consistently |
| Face | The primary clear reference filename |
| Hair and outfit | Current intended version and any separate photo |
| Position | Where the person belongs in the group |
| Essential detail | One or two cues that must be retained |
Keep filenames readable and avoid mixing several people in one unlabeled folder of screenshots.
Explain relative relationships
State who should stand beside whom and any important relative height or seated position. For a wedding group, distinguish the couple and each set of parents clearly rather than assuming the maker can infer relationships from appearance.
The style may use altered proportions. Ask how the arrangement will preserve the family relationships while keeping all faces visible at the selected size.
Review the full footprint
Six people need room for clothing, hair and spacing. Confirm the finished base width and depth before choosing a shelf or display case.
Additional scenery can increase that footprint further. At VoxelPals, backgrounds, furniture and scene accessories require a separate discussion and quote rather than being assumed part of the people-only selection.

Appoint one feedback coordinator
Collect family comments in one place, resolve contradictions and send one consolidated revision list. Refer to A through F so every comment maps to the correct person.
On the final proof, check each row against the image, then review the group as a whole. Save the approved version and reference sheet together.
Our combined-photo guide covers images taken at different times. A simple consistent system lets a large family order remain personal without becoming confusing.
