Short answer: A VoxelPals custom bobblehead is a small 3D figure of a real person, hand-sculpted in polymer clay from your photos and painted by hand, with the head set on a small spring so it nods when you tap it. If you would rather have a head that stays still, choose a standard figure at the same price. Bobbleheads come in 10, 14 or 18 cm (about 4, 5.5 or 7 in) and, on the US store, start at $99 for one person, $164 for a couple and $294 for four people. Pets are not made as bobbleheads.
What makes it a bobblehead
The head is sculpted slightly larger than life, so the likeness lives in the face: the shape of the eyes, the expression they always wear and the outline the hair makes. It sits on a small spring and nods when you tap it or when the shelf gets bumped. 3D figures of people are made as bobbleheads by default, and under Style on the product page you choose:
- Bobblehead: the head is spring-mounted and nods.
- Standard figure: the head is fixed and the figure stays still.
The price is the same either way. The figure is polymer clay, shaped by hand by a sculptor, oven-baked, painted by hand and finished on a polished display base, so no two are ever identical. It is a stylised interpretation of your photo, not a scan: the likeness comes from hair, outfit, colours and pose. The nodding head is a 3D feature; our brick figures are built without it.
Sizes
- 10 cm (4 in): the usual gift size and the one most people choose.
- 14 cm (5.5 in): real shelf presence.
- 18 cm (7 in): a centrepiece.
Sizes are the height of the finished figure. We confirm the complete footprint, including the base and any props, with you before we start. Larger sizes, for example 35 cm, can be made as a custom order.

Starting prices in US dollars for the figure only. Bigger sizes and premium gift packaging cost more, and each product page shows the exact price.

Premium gift packaging adds $5. Small handheld props, such as a bouquet, a book, a coffee cup or a football, are free; larger props and scenes are quoted separately, and we email you the price before anything is charged. Pets and bobbleheads
Pets are not made as bobbleheads. A pet on its own, such as 3D Pet, is a standard figure: dogs at 6, 8 or 10 cm and cats at 6 or 8 cm, from $94 on the US store. Pet figures are made in one piece and copy the pose in the photo you choose, so the pose is settled before sculpting starts. If you want to be in it too, You & Your Pet sculpts you and your pet together on one base, and we confirm with you whether your head nods before sculpting starts.
How ordering works
- Choose a design, size and style on the product page, plus Figure only or Premium gift packaging.
- Add your photos: up to 10 photos, 12 MB each, as JPG, PNG or WebP. One clear, well-lit photo with the face visible is perfect, and a full-length shot helps us get the outfit and posture right. No photo yet? Order now and email it to hello@voxelpals.com later.
- Check the head first: there is no digital design, because the sculptor works in clay from the start. We sculpt the head first and send you photos of it beside your photo, usually within 3–4 days of receiving your photo. Tell us what is off and we go back into the sculpt.
- Then the hair and body: once the head is right, we make the hair and body and finish the figure over about 8–12 days, then send you photos of it before it ships.
- Delivery: shipping is free and tracked. Most US orders arrive 20–25 days after we have your photo, and US import duties are included.
You can cancel for a full refund before the sculptor starts; once sculpting has begun, a clay figure can't be refunded for a change of mind. If it arrives damaged, defective or different from what you approved, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will remake it free or refund you in full. Can I get a figure whose head does not move?
Yes. Choose Standard figure under Style on the product page and the head is fixed. A bobblehead and a standard figure cost the same.
Can you make a bobblehead of my dog or cat?

Do I see the bobblehead before it is finished?

Can you make a bobblehead of a celebrity or a cartoon character?
No. We make figures from your own photos of you and the people in your life, and everyone shown should agree to having a figure made. We do not reproduce celebrities, public figures, copyrighted characters or brand logos.
