How to Choose a Figure Size for a Desk
Choose a desk figurine by measuring the space it will occupy, not just by selecting a height that sounds right.

Choose a desk figurine by measuring the space it will occupy, not just by selecting a height that sounds right. The base, accessories and viewing distance all affect how comfortably it fits.
Measure the available footprint
Mark a rectangle on paper using the proposed base width and depth. Place it on the desk where the figure would stand, leaving room for cables, a keyboard and normal hand movement.
Check whether any part extends beyond that base. A hat, instrument or outstretched arm can occupy more space than the platform underneath it.
Check height in context
Compare the proposed finished height with the monitor, lamp and nearby shelves. Ask whether the quoted dimension includes the base or only the person.
A group can be relatively short but wide. Conversely, a tall narrow figure can interfere with a low shelf above the desk even when its base fits comfortably.
Consider what you want to see
At a close desk distance, a restrained figure can feel personal without many tiny accessories. If the piece will sit farther away, silhouette and outfit colors may matter more than small facial or lettering details.
View examples at realistic scale. Enlarging a product photograph to fill a screen can create expectations that no small object will match at ordinary viewing distance.

Leave a practical buffer
Avoid placing the figure where your arm, chair or laptop bag routinely passes. Keep it away from edges, direct heat and other unsuitable conditions identified by the maker.
If you want a display case, measure the outside dimensions of the case as well as its usable interior. The protective format can take more room than the figure itself.
Our measurement guide helps clarify product dimensions. A good desk size is the one that fits the complete display and your everyday movements, while still showing the details you actually care about.
