A display case should fit the whole figure, allow safe handling and suit its location. Begin with dimensions and access rather than choosing a case only because its photograph looks elegant.

Measure the interior and exterior

Check usable internal width, depth and height against the figure's complete footprint, including the base and projecting accessories. Leave space to place and remove the object without scraping its head or sides.

Then check the case's outside dimensions against your shelf. A case can fit the figure internally while being too deep or tall for the intended display location.

Check how it opens

A lift-off cover, hinged door and sliding panel require different clearance. Think through the actual movement with the shelf and neighboring objects in place.

Avoid an arrangement that forces you to lift a delicate figure by its head or maneuver it through a narrow opening. Access matters every time you dust or rearrange the display.

Understand what the case protects against

A suitable enclosure can reduce dust and casual contact. It should not automatically be treated as impact-proof, airtight, temperature-controlled or ultraviolet-protective unless those properties are specifically documented.

Follow the case manufacturer's cleaning instructions. Some clear materials scratch easily or require particular cleaners; a figure-care product is not necessarily a case-care product.

Choose a calm composition

Keep enough visual space around the figure for its silhouette to read. A restrained backing color can improve contrast, while a busy patterned background may compete with the face and clothing.

For several figures, consider whether separate cases or one larger enclosure makes handling easier. Do not overcrowd the interior simply because the bases technically fit.

Our display-lighting guide helps plan illumination without assuming the case solves heat or sunlight concerns. The right case supports both the object's care and the way you want to enjoy it each day.
