Prepare before opening
Make room for the box, removed packing and the finished figure. Keep children and pets away from the immediate unpacking area, especially when small separate parts may be included.
Check the outside of the package for visible damage and photograph it if needed. Read any opening instructions before cutting through wrapping or inserts.
Remove layers in order
Open the outer packaging carefully, keeping cutting tools away from the object. Lift out loose packing without tugging on attached or projecting parts.
If a fitted insert holds the figure, determine how it separates before forcing it. Check for accessories stored in another compartment so they are not discarded with ordinary packing material.

Support the object correctly
Use the maker's recommended lifting points, usually involving the base and robust body areas. Do not pull on a head, long hair section, instrument or animal tail.
Place the figure on the prepared surface and inspect it gently. Avoid repeatedly manipulating a part that seems loose; document what you see and ask for advice.
Keep records and packaging briefly
Confirm that the people count, accessories, text and selected options match the order. Photograph any concern before attempting a repair, and retain relevant packing while the issue is being assessed.
Our arrival-damage guide explains what information helps a seller respond. Use the store's current policy and contact instructions rather than assuming a universal reporting deadline.
Once everything is checked, save useful fitted packaging for future moves if space permits. Also keep the care instructions where you can find them. A few calm minutes at arrival can prevent a fragile part from being damaged during the very first handling of a meaningful gift.
