Text on a brick figure base works best when it is short, legible and deliberately placed. A miniature inscription has less room than the enlarged proof on your screen suggests.

Choose the essential message

Start with the smallest wording that preserves the meaning: a name, a date or a brief phrase. If you want a longer story, include it on a separate card rather than shrinking the inscription until it becomes decorative texture.

Write the final text exactly as it should appear, including capitalization, punctuation and date format. Do not expect the maker to resolve conflicting spellings from different files.

Confirm the available method

Ask whether the product supports printing, an attached plaque, brick-built lettering or another treatment. Each method has different size and character limitations.

Not every base includes personalization by default. Confirm the scope and any extra cost before using a concept image as evidence that the inscription is included.

Check contrast and placement

Choose a readable relationship between lettering and background. Position the message where feet, props or the front edge of a frame will not hide it.

View the proof at approximately the finished size. If you cannot read it comfortably there, shorten the wording or ask about a different layout instead of relying on a zoomed-in preview.

Perform a separate text check

Review spelling independently from the faces and outfits. Familiar names are easy to skim past, and dates can be misread when day and month conventions differ.

For a group gift, have one person consolidate the approved wording. Save that exact version with the final proof so later design changes do not accidentally restore an earlier draft.

Our brick approval checklist covers the rest of the figure. Treat the inscription as a small design element with its own review, not as an afterthought pasted onto whatever space remains.
