Can Separate Photos Be Combined into One Family Figure?
Separate photographs can be used to plan a family figurine, provided each person's references and the intended arrangement are clear.

Separate photographs can be used to plan a family figurine, provided each person's references and the intended arrangement are clear. The design still needs to reconcile different angles, dates, outfits and image quality.
Label every person
Create one small set per person with a face reference and any needed outfit or pose image. Use simple consistent labels, then identify where each person belongs in the group.
When photographs were taken years apart, state the intended age or appearance. A child in an older family photo should not be mistaken for the current version shown elsewhere.
Explain relative size and relationships
Give useful relative information rather than assuming perspective in unrelated photographs establishes height. Say who is taller, which children should appear smaller and whether anyone should be seated.
The selected style may use intentionally altered proportions, so ask how those relationships will be represented. Exact photographic scale is not always compatible with a stylized character format.
Choose a coherent arrangement
Decide who stands together, who holds or stands beside a pet, and which faces must be fully visible from the main display angle. Keep the composition simple enough that the group remains readable.
If a missing or deceased relative is included, describe that intention sensitively and confirm that the proposed gift is appropriate for the recipient. Do not turn the design into a surprise emotional decision on their behalf.

Review one combined proof
The final group should be assessed together, not only as isolated portraits. Check relative size, spacing, outfits and facial visibility in the same version.
Ask the maker to flag references that are too unclear before production. An uncertain detail should be discussed rather than invented from an enhanced photograph.
Our six-person reference organizer provides a practical format for a larger group. A well-labeled set of separate photos can be more useful than a single crowded image where several faces are small or obscured.
