3D or Brick?
Both start from your photo, and we send photos at every step with changes on request. Here is what each one does best.
3D figures and brick figures compared
| 3D figure | Brick figure | |
|---|---|---|
| Look | Smooth, rounded characters, sculpted from your photo and painted by hand | Confident likenesses built from broad, smooth pieces, with graphic facial details |
| Signature | A spring-mounted head that nods, or a standard figure at the same price | Assembled by hand into a clean figure on a stable display base |
| Your proof | Photos of the sculpted face, then of the finished figure | A digital proof before anything is built |
| Sizes | 10, 14 or 18 cm (about 4, 5.5 or 7 in) | Up to about 14 cm (5.5 in) tall |
| Lovely for | One person, couples, families, pets and 20+ occasions | One person, couples, families, pets, framed photos and 20+ occasions |
Ordering & proofs
How long does it take?
Once we have your photo, your first proof arrives in 2–3 days for brick figures (a digital proof), or in 3–4 days for 3D figures (photos of the sculpted face). Once you approve it, your figure is made and finished over 8–12 days.
What kind of photo should I send?
One clear, well-lit photo with the face visible is perfect. Front-facing or a gentle three-quarter view works best. Add it on the product page, or check out first and email it to hello@voxelpals.com.
Do I see my figure before it is finished?
Yes. For brick figures you approve a digital proof, and nothing is built until you approve it. 3D figures are sculpted by hand in polymer clay from the start: you see photos of the face first, then photos of the finished figure before it ships.
What does the proof actually look like?
For a 3D figure, the sculptor shapes it by hand in polymer clay: we send photos of the face first, then photos of the finished figure before it ships. For a brick figure, a single front-facing build image: brick characters are assembled from a fixed catalogue of parts, so there is no model to spin, and the front view is the view the piece is designed around. Either way you see the exact hair, outfit, colours and props before your figure ships.
Can I ask for changes?
We send you photos at every step, and you can ask for changes along the way — different hair, a different outfit, a different pose, a prop swapped out. Just reply with your notes and we adjust it before moving on. For brick figures, you can also cancel for a full refund at any point before you approve the proof. For 3D figures in polymer clay, you can cancel for a full refund before the sculptor starts; once we have confirmed your order and sculpting has begun, a clay figure can’t be refunded for a change of mind.
Can I cancel after ordering?
For brick figures, yes: any time before you approve the proof, for any reason, and we refund you in full — no restocking fee, no part refund, no questions. Once you approve, we start buying materials and making, so from that point the order can no longer be cancelled. 3D figures are sculpted by hand in polymer clay from the start: you can cancel for a full refund before the sculptor starts; once we have confirmed your order and sculpting has begun, a clay figure can’t be refunded for a change of mind.
Can I send it straight to the person it’s for?
Yes — enter their address at checkout. Want to add a gift message? Email it to us after you order, with your order number, and we include it on a card for free. It arrives ready to open.
What is the last day to order for Christmas?
To receive your figure in time for Christmas, order and send us your photo by 20 November in the US and Australia, or by 22 November in Europe and Switzerland. Most orders arrive 20–25 days after we have your photo. Later than that? Email hello@voxelpals.com before you order and we will tell you what is possible – or give a gift card, which arrives by email straight away.
Do you have gift cards?
Yes. VoxelPals gift cards come in US$50, US$100 and US$150, shown in your local currency on the gift card page. The code arrives by email right after checkout, and they choose their own 3D or brick figure and send us their photo.
Can I add a gift message?
Yes, for free. After you order, email your message to hello@voxelpals.com with your order number, and we include it on a card in the parcel.
How much does a figure cost?
A 3D figure of one person starts at €90 (10 cm), and a 3D pet figure starts at €86. A brick figure of one person starts at €81. The price depends on the number of people or pets, the size and the packaging, and you always see the final price on the product page before you order. Shipping is free.
Customisation
Can I choose the hair, outfit and details?
Yes. Tell us which hairstyle, colour, outfit, pose or accessory makes the person unmistakable.
Can you make couples and families?
Absolutely. Choose a duo or crew and tell us how the people and pets belong together.
Can you make pets?
Yes. Breed silhouette, ears, tail, markings and favourite pose all help us capture their personality. 3D pet figures are made as standard figures, so the head does not nod.
Can you add props and accessories?
Small handheld props — a bouquet, a book, a coffee cup, a football — are included free on 3D figures. Larger pieces such as a scene base, a motorbike or a car are modelled from scratch, so we quote them per piece: pick one on the product page and we will email you the price before anything is charged. Nothing extra is taken at checkout.
My photo is old or a little blurry — will it work?
Often, yes. Send the best one you have; if we cannot get a confident likeness from it we will tell you honestly before anything is built, and you lose nothing.
Materials, sizes & bulk
Will it look exactly like my photo?
It is a stylised interpretation — not a scan. The likeness comes from hair, outfit, colours and pose, and you see photos before we finish.
What are the figures made from?
Brick figures use a small number of broad, smooth ABS-like pieces. 3D figures are made in polymer clay: shaped by hand by a sculptor, then baked and finished, with softer edges, a warmer handmade character, and no two ever quite identical.
Who makes the figures, and where?
Every figure is made to order, just for you. 3D figures are sculpted by hand in polymer clay, baked and painted by hand; brick figures are designed from your photo by our designers. They are made in our partner workshop in China. VoxelPals is run by Cubeworks Limited in Hong Kong.
Which size should I choose?
3D figures are hand-sculpted in polymer clay at 10, 14 or 18 cm (4, 5.5 or 7 in): 10 cm (4 in) is the usual gift size and what most people pick, 14 cm (5.5 in) has real shelf presence, and 18 cm (7 in) is a centrepiece. Choose the size on the product page to see its current price. Every 3D design is made as a bobblehead unless you choose a standard figure, and the price is the same either way.
Do you do wedding favours, corporate gifts or bulk orders?
Yes. For bulk or group orders, such as wedding favours, corporate gifts or one figure each for a whole team, contact us with how many you need, which design and the date you need them by. We will talk through the details with you and confirm the price before you order.
Where do you ship?
We deliver to the countries you can select at checkout. Shipping is free with no minimum spend, and VAT and import duties are included in the price.
What if something is wrong?
If it arrives damaged, defective or different from the proof you approved, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will remake it free or refund you in full.
Will I pay import duties?
No. Our prices include VAT and import duties, and shipping is free, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives.
How is it packed?
Every figure ships in clean protective packaging. Premium gift packaging can be added on the product page — the exact price is shown there.
Is it a toy?
It is a display keepsake, assembled from small parts — great on a shelf or desk, not suitable for children under three.
