Check the journey and rules
Consider whether the object will travel by car, train, air or parcel service. If a carrier or venue has baggage restrictions, check its current rules for the item and packaging before departure.
Do not assume a fragile label guarantees special handling. Plan the packing around the possibility of the bag being moved, set down or placed near other luggage.
Use a protective container
Original fitted packaging can be useful when intact. Support robust parts and prevent the figure from shifting without compressing thin accessories, hair or projections.
Keep separate components individually protected and labeled. Avoid loose packing that allows a heavy base to strike another part of the figure during movement.

Keep it accessible without repeated handling
Choose a position where the container will not be crushed and can be removed calmly if inspection is required. Carry a brief description or order record if it helps explain a custom object.
Do not repeatedly unwrap the figure to show it during the journey. Each handling creates another opportunity to catch a delicate part or lose a small accessory.
Prepare for arrival
Clear a stable surface before unpacking and support the base when lifting. Keep useful packaging for the return trip, and check the object's condition before discarding anything.
If damage occurs, photograph the object and packing before attempting repair. Our damage-report guide explains what information is useful.
For an irreplaceable or particularly delicate piece, consider whether it needs to travel at all. A photograph may serve the occasion while the original remains safely displayed at home. The practical choice depends on the object's shape, value to you and the real conditions of the journey, not simply its small dimensions.
